IFAS is looking for a Freelance Content Creator to support the development of our social media with a particular emphasis on creating content for Instagram and TikTok as well as supporting us with maintaining brand consistency across our website, publications and social media.
About IFAS
IFAS sits within the Faculty of Forensic & Legal Medicine (FFLM). IFAS is funded by the Home Office to increase awareness of the risks of strangulation, develop a research evidence base to inform best practice and resources, and deliver training and awareness to improve the response to victims/survivors. IFAS currently has an Instagram, BlueSky, and LinkedIn account and with the support of a freelance content creator we would also be looking to launch a TikTok account alongside some significant research on strangulation that we will be publishing later on this year.
About the role
We are looking for someone who can work alongside the Communications Manager to build our presence on social media through creating a strong brand identity and showcasing our work in new and creative ways. We want someone to bring fresh ideas, be confident to explain their creative vision and be able to collaborate with the team.
We are particularly interested to hear from those who have skills in video editing, designing still and moving infographics and constructing and developing pages for websites so knowledge in coding would be highly desirable.
This role is a 1 day a week freelance role with a day rate of £200.

What you’ll do:
Design engaging content for a range of communications projects
Champion our brand and tone of voice, using our brand guidelines to create and edit content.
Support the Communications Manager to review the brand guidelines to ensure they effectively inform our external outputs.
Use feedback and insight to shape content for a wide range of audiences and channels.
What you’ll bring:
Strong collaboration skills with the confidence to work independently and as part of the small team at IFAS.
Experience editing online content, with knowledge of wordpress, accessibility requirements and SEO techniques.
Ability to work at pace and meet tight deadlines whilst maintaining quality.
Confidence to put alternative ideas forward to the team and take effective ownership of design projects.

An outline (no more than 400 words) of how you would enhance our Instagram page to drive engagement from a mainstream audience.
Whilst academic qualifications will be considered what we are really looking for is how you execute ideas through a range of creative outputs so it is important that your portfolio showcases how you have presented complex data and information in a way that is accessible and creative on a variety of platforms.
This role is one day a week so it is important through your CV that you can demonstrate your experience in delivering impactful work in a short space of time.
